Katherine Kennon
Principal Architect
Katherine, originally from South Carolina, received her Bachelor of Art in Design and Master of Architecture from Clemson University. Growing up in a small town, living in the midst of urban Philadelphia, and living and traveling in Europe has impressed upon Katherine the many ways architecture influences the lives we live. Teaching in design programs for over two decades has also given her a sensitivity to the impact of buildings in the exterior civic environment and as an interior environment.
As an architect, Katherine has over 25 years of experience in various capacities in the design industry including programming, space planning, architectural design, owner representation, and facility evaluation for building code and accessibility compliance. Her project experience includes office, retail, medical (clinical and hospital) and residential. Utilizing her in depth of knowledge in building codes and ADA/accessibility requirements, she has served as owner representative and expert consultant to legal counsel in ADA litigation cases and provided ADA surveys and reports for building owners. She is an author, adjunct instructor, and lecturer for professional education seminars and national conferences on codes, accessibility, and design.
At the Workshop, Katherine assists in marketing, project development and staff development. She also supports the design development and documentation process particularly for ADA and code compliance.
