The Church at Grace Park is part of a growing campus on a 27.4 acre site. On site, there is an existing church and church facilities as well as academic facilities for Christian Community Schools, a ministry of the church. The entire campus consists of several different buildings as well as sports fields for various athletics. The buildings include the main church and sanctuary, chapel, fellowship hall and administrative offices as well as classrooms for CCS students which consist of preschool, elementary, middle and high school students.

The goal set for the design team by the planning committee was to provide an extensive renovation and upgrade to the existing facilities, add a new 20,000 sq. ft. gymnasium with locker rooms, and create a new 4,300 (+/-) sq. ft. entry and lobby that connects old and new, while remaining within their economic constraints. The work included a renovation and upgrade to an existing auditorium, serving as the main sanctuary, improvements and construction of new classrooms, upgrades for lighting and finishes, and a new gymnasium with new exterior finishes coordinating with the existing palette of materials.

By thinking creatively about structural systems, building organization and finishes, an affective and economical solution was developed by the Project Team. This allowed them to phase the project and start with the new gymnasium and lockers rooms and to keep other services and programs running during the renovation and construction.
